Themes: Why archive genocide?, The victim's perspective
After the Pogrom of 9/10 November 1938, Alfred Wiener collected 350 first-hand accounts of the attacks on synagogues, shops and homes, and of the arrests of Jewish people.
Many of these testimonies were written very soon after the events. One is dated 9 November 1938, so it was being written as the events took place.
