The significance of the 'Jewish News'

Themes: About The Wiener Library, Auschwitz concentration camp, Why archive genocide?

The ‘Jewish News’ was a periodical compiled by Alfred Wiener and his colleagues during the war.

The second issue includes a report from January 1942 describing how many people were dying in the Oświęcim concentration camp(better known as Auschwitz).

This report is significant because it comes from the time before the Nazis had taken the decision to murder all the Jews, and yet thousands of people were already dying.
